Physical Benefits of Yin – Holding poses for extended time stimulates connective tissues. It hydrates & lubricates fascia, ligaments, tendons & joints. Layers of fascia support organs, muscles, joints. The compression & release of fascia squeezes out old stagnant fluid & allows fresh, oxygenated fluid – to stimulate collagen production, break up lumpy tissue, repair cells & increase range of motion, for a more functional aligned body. Yin also helps to regulate the nervous system. By slowing down, we tell the body it is safe and cortisol levels drop.
On a subtle level - opening meridians corelating to organs, cleansing & activating chakras, letting go of stuck emotions & mental baggage.
